Well, it’s been since May of 2010 that I posted something here. My guess is that with all of us (except Gianna) on Facebook, no one looks at this site anymore. If that’s not the case, post a comment here and let me know and I’ll get cracking on keeping it updated.
A LOT has happened in the past year. We moved to Auburn in June (love it) and the kids have all started new schools with the exception of Kelsey. Gianna started kindergarten and Nico started high school (holy crap) in August. Nico loves his new school as does Gianna. Kolby started at a new middle school and is very popular with the ladies (big shock). He’ll start (gulp) high school next year.
I volunteer in Gianna’s class once a week and really enjoy it. The kids are very sweet and she has a great teacher.
I’m still plugging away at the various businesses and I’m trying to get into a writing routine for the first time…ever.
Want to know more? Post something here or friend me on Facebook.
Rick…
Well, Nico turned 14 a few weeks ago and now he’s graduating 8th grade and will be a high school student in the fall. Wow.
On Monday, Nico was pulled from class by a school administrator and told that he is a valedictorian in his graduating class. Amazingly cool, Nico – congrats!!
Of course Nico texted his family to tell them the news and…wait for it…misspelled valedictorian. Yeah, classic Nico.
We are proud of you, buddy!!
Amazingly enough, Kelsey turned 16 yesterday. She spent her birthday with her high school choir at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Nice.
Dad couldn’t be more proud of Kelsey. She’s turned into a caring, smart, funny & talented young lady.
Happy Birthday Kelsey!!!
Okay, don’t get excited. She didn’t get married, she learned how to tie her shoes all by herself!
After a few frustrating attempts at teaching her, dad broke it down to simple steps (i.e. bite-sized chunks) and she had it in no time.
She was VERY proud of herself…as was her daddy.

Gianna Ties The Knot!
Gianna and her preschool buddies were in for a treat this morning. Mother Goose arrived and had magic tricks and tons-o-books to read. They had a blast.
In the photo are Gianna’s best buds Angelina and Hailey.

So I haven’t updated this site since ‘09, so I thought I’d give it a major overhaul. This is the first draft and I’ll be adding photos, videos and info on everyone in the family as things happen (or as I remember that I haven’t logged on in a long time). We’d love to know if anyone is actually reading this stuff, so please comment on any photos or stories we post here, okay?
Nico is 13 and will be 14 on May 17th of this year. He is a very, very good student and is just one of those kids who you don’t have to hound to do his homework or to take his academic career seriously (whew!). I’ll admit that he didn’t get this from me. *sigh*
That said, he has been telling everyone since he entered middle school that he DOES NOT want to go to his local high school like his two older sisters. He has zero interest in the social aspects of high school. He’s got friends, but they just aren’t the popular crowd…and they aren’t girls. Can’t have it all!
We have been aware for a few years now of a charter high school located at the local community college. If a student is accepted there and works their butts off, they can actually graduate high school in four years with an associates degree in college. Wow!! I wish I had that opportunity.
So in March, Nico went for his interview with the charter high school. He had to meet with faculty and take an aptitude test. His mom called me one day and told me that she had received “a large envelope” from the school. We all know rejection letters come in small envelopes, right?
Watch the video to see Nico’s hyper-reaction to the contents of the “large envelope”…and yes, I’m totally kidding about his reaction.
Watch The Video!
Congrats Nico!! The entire family is proud of you!!
